We are seeking a Board-Certified or
Board-Eligible Neurosurgeon to join an established
neurosurgical program in Rapid City, South Dakota. This position is exclusively focused
on acute care neurosurgery and trauma, with no elective
procedures. The physician will provide comprehensive care for patients with
traumatic neurosurgical injuries in an ACS-verified Level II Trauma Center and
work in a high-acuity environment requiring rapid response and expert clinical
decision-making.
The program offers strong APP support,
excellent trauma and ICU services, and a fully staffed follow-up clinic
to support continuity of care.

Clinical
Responsibilities
- Provide acute
care neurosurgical services for trauma patients, including evaluation,
diagnosis, surgical intervention, and postoperative management
- Manage traumatic
neurosurgical injuries in emergency and inpatient settings
- Collaborate with
Trauma, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, and other multidisciplinary
teams
- Provide timely,
evidence-based care for high-acuity patients
- Participate in
follow-up clinics to ensure continuity of care for trauma patients
- Supervise and
collaborate with APPs to enhance patient care delivery
- Develop and
adhere to standardized clinical protocols
- Participate in
quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree
- Board Certified
or Board Eligible in Neurosurgery
- Fellowship
training in trauma or demonstrated trauma experience required
- Unrestricted South Dakota
medical license
- ATLS
certification preferred
- Proven ability
to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Strong
communication, collaboration, and leadership skills
