Locums Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician

We are seeking a Board Certified Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician for a locums opportunity at a Level I trauma hospital in Lansing, Michigan. This is a hospital-based position providing weekday onsite coverage with nighttime call.

Position Highlights

• Start Date: ASAP
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, clinic hours with nighttime call
• Coverage: 3+ weeks per month preferred
• Weekend Call: None
• Call: Night call only
• Practice Setting: Hospital-Based
• Patient Population: Adult
• Trauma Level: Level I
• OR Availability: 2 dedicated Cardiovascular Surgery ORs during daytime hours
• Average Volume: Approximately 1 case per weekend
• EMR: Epic
• Must be able to work independently

Required Procedures & Expertise

Candidates should be comfortable independently managing and performing:

• Adult Cardiac Surgery
• General Thoracic Surgery
• CABG
• Heart Valve Repair/Replacement
• Tube Thoracostomy
• Pericardial Window
• Thoracotomy, including lung biopsy, lung resection, and pneumonectomy
• Thoracotomy Decortication
• Mediastinal Surgery

Required Qualifications

• Board Certified
• Active Michigan medical license
• BLS
• ACLS
• PALS
• Ability to independently perform required cardiothoracic procedures
