Locums Cardiovascular Surgery Physician

We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Cardiovascular Surgery Physician for a locums opportunity in Ogden, Utah. This position is at a Level II Trauma Center and requires a surgeon comfortable providing both cardiovascular and thoracic surgery coverage.

Schedule & Coverage

• Coverage: 24-hour call
• Dates: December 28 – January 3
• Setting: Level II Trauma Center
• EMR: Meditech
• Patient Volume: Approximately 10–12 patients per week
• Consults: Approximately 3–5 per 7-day period
• Surgeries: Approximately 1–3 per week
• Typically 1 cardiac case
• Typically 2–3 thoracic cases
• Annual Cardiac Surgery Volume: Approximately 80 cases per year

Responsibilities

• Provide 24-hour cardiovascular and thoracic surgery call coverage.
• Evaluate and manage cardiovascular and thoracic surgery patients.
• Perform surgical procedures as needed, including cardiac and thoracic cases.
• Respond to consultations and provide recommendations for appropriate surgical management.
• Collaborate with APPs, nursing staff, and other members of the care team.
• Provide inpatient and emergency surgical coverage as needed.
• Complete timely documentation in Meditech.

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiovascular/ Cardiothoracic Surgery.
• Must be comfortable performing both cardiovascular and thoracic surgery.
• Active Utah medical license required.
• Utah DEA required.
• IMLC candidates will be considered.
