Locums Neurosurgery Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a Locums Neurosurgery Nurse Practitioner to provide inpatient neurosurgical care in a hospital setting in Boston, MA. This is a patient-care-focused role working alongside neurosurgery residents and the inpatient care team.

Full-time coverage is preferred, but providers available for a minimum of 2 weeks per month will be considered.

Compensation:  $125 - $135 Per Hour

Schedule

• 3 shifts per week
• 13-hour shifts: 6:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• No nights
• No holidays
• Full-time preferred; minimum 2 weeks/month considered

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient neurosurgical care for pediatric patients.
• Begin the day rounding with neurosurgery residents and reviewing patient plans.
• Evaluate patients who require in-person assessment and follow-up.
• Review, enter, and manage patient orders.
• Assist with discharge planning and complete discharge-related orders and documentation.
• Coordinate care with residents, physicians, nursing staff, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
• Perform bedside procedures as appropriate, including removal of Hemovac and JP drains.
• Provide ongoing patient care and clinical management throughout the shift.
• No OR responsibilities; APPs are dedicated to patient care while residents assist with surgical cases.

Requirements

• Nurse Practitioner with Board Certification in Neurosurgery
• Massachusetts medical license
• Minimum 1 year of neurosurgery experience
• Inpatient neurosurgical experience required
• Pediatric patient experience preferred
