Locums Orthopedic Surgery Physician

We are seeking a skilled Locums Orthopedic Surgery Physician for a full-time opportunity in Saginaw, Michigan. This position combines outpatient clinic responsibilities, operating room procedures, and hospital call coverage at a Level II trauma center. The ideal candidate will be proficient in the full scope of orthopedic surgery, with a background in orthopedic trauma preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive orthopedic care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Evaluate new and established patients, perform injections and office-based procedures, and manage follow-up visits.
• Perform elective orthopedic surgeries and manage musculoskeletal injuries.
• Provide emergency department consultations, inpatient rounding, and orthopedic call coverage.
• Perform emergent surgeries and manage orthopedic trauma cases as needed.
• Collaborate with advanced practice providers and the multidisciplinary care team.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Epic and Dragon.

Schedule

• Full-time schedule encompassing inpatient and outpatient services.
• Call: 10–11 days per month, with 24-hour call shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM.
• Clinic hours: 8:00 AM–4:30 PM.
• Office days: Monday and Wednesday, open for discussion.
• OR days: Tuesday and Thursday, open for discussion.
• Non-call days include outpatient clinic and operating room responsibilities.

Requirements

• Physician with training and experience in the full scope of orthopedic surgery.
• Orthopedic trauma experience preferred.
• Current AHA BLS certification.
