Locums Interventional Cardiology Physician

We are seeking a Board-Certified Interventional Cardiology Physician for a locums opportunity in Mechanicsville, Virginia. This inpatient and call coverage position offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive cardiovascular care, perform interventional procedures, and support patients requiring urgent cardiac treatment.

Schedule & Call Requirements

·       Weekday Onsite Coverage: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM

·       Weekday Evening/Night Call: Monday–Friday, 5:00 PM–7:00 AM

·       Weekend Call: Saturday, 7:00 AM–Monday, 7:00 AM

·       Weekend and on-call coverage required.

·       Call Ratio: Approximately 9 VCS to 7 RHV; final ratio to be determined.

 

Facility Details

·       Total Hospital Beds: 250

·       ICU Beds: 30

·       Practice Setting: Inpatient and on-call coverage

 

Responsibilities

·       Perform coronary angiograms and diagnostic heart catheterizations.

·       Perform balloon angioplasty, coronary angioplasty, and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).

·       Perform atherectomy and embolic protection procedures.

·       Provide carotid artery stenting when indicated.

·       Manage vascular disease and develop appropriate treatment plans.

·       Respond to urgent cardiac consultations and interventional cardiology emergencies.

·       Provide inpatient cardiovascular care and coordinate with the multidisciplinary team.

·       Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow established protocols.

 

Requirements

·       Board-Certified in Interventional Cardiology.

·       Active Virginia medical license.

·       Current ACLS certification.

·       Current BLS certification.

·       Experience with coronary interventions, PCI, cardiac catheterization, and vascular procedures.
