Neurosurgeon Physician

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Neurosurgery Physician to join an established medical team in Carbondale, Illinois. This opportunity offers a unique two-weeks-on, two-weeks-off schedule, providing an excellent work-life balance. The physician will provide comprehensive neurosurgical care, perform cranial and spinal procedures, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

Schedule

• Full-time position
• Two weeks on / two weeks off
• 183 24-hour shifts per year

Compensation

• Annual compensation: $823,500
• Additional shifts beyond 183 annually compensated at $4,500 per shift.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive neurosurgical care for patients with neurological conditions.
• Perform cranial and spinal surgical procedures.
• Evaluate and manage emergency and inpatient neurosurgical consultations.
• Provide preoperative and postoperative patient management.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary medical teams.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation.

Qualifications & Requirements

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an accredited Neurosurgery residency.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurosurgery.
• Active Illinois medical license.
• Strong surgical skills and experience across a range of neurosurgical procedures.
• Minimum of 50 spinal surgical cases within the past 12 months.
• Minimum of 10 cranial surgical cases within the past 12 months.
• Peripheral Nerve (if requesting): 5 cases within the past 12 months
